Community Preservation Committee discusses Franklin Street property

Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of March 9, 2026

Braintree Community Preservation Committee discusses Franklin Street lakefront property. With four members present, the committee discussed a possible $375,000 acquisition of 6 Franklin Street, a lakefront property near South Braintree. Vice Chair Mark Preziosi said he would be interested at $200,000 but not the current price; member Ronald Frazier questioned the property's utility given that the town already owns the adjacent lake and park.

Director of Planning and Community Development Peter Matchak will maintain communication with the realtor but signal the town's unwillingness to pay the current price. The committee also received an update on the Nathan Buliga Park hockey rink design contract with Weston & Sampson for $53,000.
