High school students nominated as Herring and Fisheries wardens

Braintree Herring and Fisheries Commission nominates two high school seniors as Student Wardens, pending Town Council approval. Chair Matthew Sisk's commission, meeting with Warden Jeff Madeiras present and Warden Denver Gibbs absent, nominated Braintree High School seniors Liam Sweeney and Makayan Lupton on Mayor Erin V. Joyce's recommendation.

The Braintree Conservation Commission unanimously approved the Streamway Maintenance Plan on March 5, and the Department of Marine Fisheries will install two solar-powered fish counters at the Rock Falls and Great Pond fish ladders before the 2026 herring migration season.
