BRAINTREE — Park commission approves $420K budget with third ranger position. The Weymouth-Braintree Regional Recreation-Conservation District Board of Commissioners unanimously backed the fiscal 2027 budget, representing a $13,000 increase from FY 2026 and funding an additional ranger. Chair William Flanagan submitted the proposal, which includes $241,000 per town and capital requests for $35,000 in building renovations plus two storage containers.

Ranger Mike Nikiciuk reported 94,311 park visits since May and confirmed that newly hired Ranger Krutz possesses required hoisting credentials. The commission also unanimously approved Bay State Community Services' request to hold the 2026 Theresa's Walk for Children and Families at the park.
