Public fish stocking event planned at Sunset Lake this spring

BRAINTREE — The Braintree Herring and Fisheries Commission will open this spring's trout stocking at Sunset Lake to public participation for the first time. The Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game will conduct the event with additional staff, nets, and buckets for community involvement. Chair Matthew Sisk confirmed that rainbow trout, tiger trout, and brook trout will be stocked, typically in April or during school vacation week.
Mayor Erin V. Joyce requested coordination with the Planning Department, Conservation Department, Braintree Public Schools, Parks Department, and local Boy Scout troops, with emphasis on elementary participation. A final date is pending the Mayor's office confirmation.
