Zoning Board approves eight-unit conversion with affordable unit

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of March 23, 2026

Braintree Zoning Board unanimously approves four residential-conversion variance petitions. Chair Rayna Rubin and the board voted to advance Patricia Fisher's proposal to convert a vacant commercial building at 75 Hancock Street into eight residential units with one designated as affordable housing under the board's 10 percent requirement. The board also approved separate variance petitions for Thomas R.

Killcullen and Jane A. Killcullen to subdivide their Sheraton Avenue property and construct a single-family dwelling, and for Benjamin Roughan to convert a two-family structure at 35 Hooker Street into three residential units, which had historically functioned as a three-unit building for over 50 years. All applications cited the shape and topography of their respective lots as hardship justifications.
