Braintree Planning Board pauses King Hill Road grading work, flags unpermitted fill
BRAINTREE — July 8, 2025 — Braintree Planning Board pauses unpermitted grading work at King Hill Road and continues a dog daycare application to August. The board unanimously voted to halt further site work at 55 King Hill Road after neighbors presented photographs showing a rear yard substantially filled before any grading permit had been issued, with attorney Mike Modestino appearing on behalf of abutter Ron Aiello and citing weeks of dust and drainage damage to neighboring properties. Chair Crohan directed engineer Sean Hardy of Hardy and Man Design Group to return with a revised plan showing fall protection on a retaining wall up to seven feet tall, landscaping on the neighbor's side, and a dust control protocol. The board also approved minor modifications for Quirk Auto Dealerships' Genesis dealership at 575 Quincy Avenue, an EV charging relocation at 2060 Forbes Road reducing the installation from six chargers to five, and removal of a dog park from the 444 Allen Street residential project, where developer Arch Communities reported it expects a certificate of occupancy by mid-July 2026. A special permit application by Wicked Puppies LLC owner Ting Ting Lee to operate a doggy daycare and overnight boarding facility at 29 Messina Drive was continued to August 12 pending a zoning review of whether overnight kenneling is a permitted use in the commercial district.
