Select Board · Meeting of September 15, 2026
BRAINTREE — The Braintree Town Council voted unanimously to back a 9-12 grade configuration for a new or renovated high school. Superintendent McDonald told councilors the Massachusetts School Building Authority wanted the town to commit to one configuration after a site visit; the School Committee had voted 6-1 the night before. Councilor Flaherty, who toured the school, called conditions beyond the public areas "shabby" and "unwelcoming." The council also approved a Washington Street rezoning for DMACC Enterprises, finalized the Allen Street road layout with easements prepared by WSP USA, accepted $1,100 in veterans donations, and authorized a Foxborough fire-repair agreement.
Developer George Clements told the council in public comment that a stalled drainage easement is holding up occupancy permits on his $40 million Hawthorne Preserve project.
