Braintree Commission Approves $6000 for Town Hall Door Upgrades
Commission on Disabilities · Meeting of May 4, 2026
Braintree Commission on Disabilities unanimously approves $6000 for town hall door upgrades. The commission backed the expenditure for wave-function openers at the basement level and auditorium ramp level, replacing push-paddle equipment that has proven troublesome for wheelchair users and others. Crystal Evans, the commission's Treasurer and a wheelchair user, championed the upgrade.
The commission also unanimously approved draft letters to surrounding communities and businesses urging the MBTA to add a bus stop on Forbes Road. The group discussed the town's sharps container disposal program, which will charge residents starting July 1 after an initial grant expired around 2003.
